Highly recommend checking out AXE MKE. A group of us attended the tequila tasting and axe throwing event, which was so much fun! Destiny did a great job keeping the event organized and timely as it was on a week night. Juan had great suggestions with axe throwing and was very patient with our larger group. If you are thinking about doing the tasting series events at AXE MKE — Just Do It.

So let's get something out of the way up front. This is axe throwing first. My only reason for not giving a full rating is with this in mind, so don't come in thinking it will automatically fit your 'vibe'. They have snacks, but I did not try them. Next, the space is small, but efficient with the space. It is styled to fit the theme of a good and laid back hobby experience. Let's go into the axe throwing before going into the drinks. 12 axe throwing 'lanes' (for the initiated, think like bowling lanes). The staff is more than willing to teach you and coach on the methods of throwing. Behave yourself to the rules, while axes are blunt they are still slightly dangerous (that's what the waiver is for). But a uniquely satisfying experience. They will check in on you, but not constantly hover like some places. Be adults and behave and you'll do fine. Good prices as well, for individual and groups, especially for downtown locations. The drinks...it is simple. Do not expect exotic cocktails. But a reasonable balance of about 22-ish beers and fundamental liquor. They can mix some of the basics. With that in mind, remember it is axe throwing first, not enough space to be a bar hangout. But enough for you to hang out after throwing. Note: my pricing is both an ace throwing for an hour and a few drinks. Parking around this area: a fair amount of street parking with a public parking garage across the street. Of you're into non-Wisco old fashions or have questions, Ryan was great at discussing and accommodating. Did very well at managing while talking with customers.

The service was mediocre. We had a group with open bar and I literally stood at the bar for 7 minutes before being served. They weren’t full and there were 5 people behind the bar talking and fiddling with glasses. The experience from my coworkers about the mixed drinks wasn’t good, so I opted for beer. The ax throwing experience was fun and was explained and taught well. They couldn’t wait for us to leave, coming around telling us how much time we had left, and we are a well behaved group.

I spent my 25th birthday there 11/26/23 I really liked the axe throwing experience. But the host and certain staff was rude and I felt rushed the whole time especially before I left. They kept looking at me and my party making us uncomfortable. Once again I enjoyed the axe throwing experience but I will never come back again. God bless
